Teenagers don’t write their souls on a page and share them with the world
Where I’m From
Privilege is taken for granted and struggle is what car you get at 16
Where I’m From
You don’t challenge the status quo because you are the product of it
Where I’m from
you don’t show courage because it isn’t needed
Where I’m from
The world is safe, your family is free, and your love is there
and because of all of that
I am dedicated to the children, the teenagers, and the men and women of POPS
Because they teach me
They help me grow
and they inspire me to be better
with them I check my privilege at the door and learn.
This Tuesday I knew my life had changed
and on Saturday it did forever
Thank you Amy
Thank you Dennis
and thank you to the artists who read
Con todo mi amor
