In one breath, men are bad, privileged people who need to be taken down a notch, and in another, men need a bigger voice, especially this new generation of evolved men, trying to expand their own realities, their own contribution to the world and the consequences their participation in the system brings. In other words, the WOKE man. So let’s dissolve this stereotype that there is ever anything wrong with being a man and embracing masculinity.
• Why do you think the “toxic masculinity” stereotype exists?
• What do you think the phrase “toxic masculinity” means?
• Have you experienced moments where someone accused you of being a toxic male? Where it was implied that being male and being proud of your masculinity was wrong?
• What actionable steps can men take to remove the “toxic masculinity” perception from society?
• If you have been involved in such conversations, how did it go? Were your contributions to the dialogue respected? Was there a particular approach you used that you felt encouraged understanding in the other party?

The Good Men Project is different from most media companies. We are a “participatory media company”—which means we don’t just have content you read and share and comment on but it means we have multiple ways you can actively be a part of the conversation. As you become a deeper part of the conversation (Which really is “The Conversation No One Else is Having), you will learn all of the ways we support our Writer’s Community—community FB groups, weekly conference calls, classes in writing, editing platform building and more.
