On Thursday, Jen Weigel wrote about the Good Men Project Magazine in the Chicago Tribune: “Are You a Good Man?: The Good Men Project helps motivate and inspire.” The article includes an interview with Good Men Project founder Tom Matlack:
“You can have all the money in the world and it doesn’t matter, it’s the people in your life that matter,” says Matlack, co-founder of The Good Men Project Foundation. “We started the foundation to help at risk boys and spark a national conversation about manhood.”
This morning, Trib readers responded to the story with unbridled enthusiasm:
“Oh wow, an online community for men that isn’t just about sexy women or getting laid,” said Jerry. “Wish I’d known about these guys a while ago. Thanks for the tip.”
“Bravo, Jen, for your piece on Tom Matlack and his Good Men Project!” said Tim. “I want to watch the DVD and will be getting the book too.”
“I feel like I’m judged by other men all the time for being a stay-at-home dad,” said Robert. “We are taught to have to DO DO DO, and that means less and less time with our kids.”
Of course, we’re getting used to this kind of reaction. But more people should be like Tim, and buy the book.
Congrats on welcoming and positive responses. So glad the word is getting out there about GMP. The conversation is taking place. Glad to be part of it. And see you succeed at it.
