The South gets a bad rap for being backwoods and backwards. One Kentucky town is busting this stereotype.
Vicco, KY, population around 330. Coal country. It’s the smallest city in the United States to pass an LGBT anti-discrimination law. This got the attention of a Hollywood writer/show creator , who decided to donate a playground to say thank you to the town.
If you think this was a publicity stunt, you’d be wrong.
When the Hollywood guy, Will & Grace co-creator Max Muchnick, came calling, the town didn’t care that he had a husband and two daughters. They welcomed him and his family.
If there’s a tiny town that ever practiced what it preaches, this is it.
Oh, and the mayor?
He’s gay, too.
