Follow two siblings on a holiday adventure in ‘Noelle’
I have watched a number of holiday movies in the last few years. Some have turned out to be really good and a ton of fun to watch. While others fall short and just aren’t that great at all. When I saw the trailer for Noelle I thought it looked like a fun holiday movie. I was able to watch a screener of this film and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Noelle here:
Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
Noelle was an okay film. The story starts off slow at first, and took a while to get interesting. Bill Hader isn’t that strong here, and in many scenes only damages the main story. Anna Kendrick does alright, but there were a few scenes where the jokes just fell flat. I doubt this will become a holiday classic, but I think some people will enjoy it.
Noelle is available now on Disney Plus.
