‘Ella McCay’ Is out now on Digital
Many films try to have that perfect blend of comedy and drama in them. If this is done correctly it can create a movie that is a ton of fun to watch. Yet if this isn’t done right it can instead make a film that ends up not being that good. I had heard mixed things about Ella McCay, but still thought it could be a fun movie to watch. I was able to get a digital copy of this film and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for this film here:
This movie follows an idealistic young woman juggling her less-than-perfect family with her passion for her work. From writer-director James L. Brooks, this fresh and heartwarming comedy is about the people you love and how to survive them.

This was an okay film, but I can’t say it was amazing either. The plot goes in many different directions, and seems to be trying too hard to make us feel for these characters. Woody Harrelson and Jamie Lee Curtis felt underutilized here and sadly aren’t able to help the film much. The ending was alright but not as good as it could have been. Some people may enjoy this movie, but it isn’t something you need to run out and watch.
