‘Fucking Innocent’ Reveals much about these early films
I have seen a few of Wes Anderson’s films. Royal Tenenbaums was the first of his films I ever saw. Fucking Innocent is a novel that takes a look at some of his early films. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Fucking Innocent here:
Fucking Innocent explores the themes of friendship and self-reflexive narratives in the seminal first three films by auteur Wes Anderson, arguing essentially that Anderson’s early films are movies about The Movies. Author John Andrew Fredrick, a comic novelist and veteran indie rock songwriter, makes both funny and intellectually challenging points as he leads you, laughing all the way, through some life lessons that are in fact quite serious if not downright philosophical.
I learned a lot about these films after reading Fucking Innocent. The author really does a great job dissecting these films in a unique way. It is clear he is a fan of Wes Anderson, and he makes some intriguing points about each film, the characters in it, and the themes they try to portray. If you are a fan of any of these movies, then this is a book you will want to read. If you want to learn more about Fucking Innocent click on this website.
