‘Floodtide’ is an exploration of the turbulent balance of power between humanity and sea. An eerie soundscape, part composed from objects found on location, marries textural latex sculpture in a short film concerned with themes of time, environment and human trace.
Alana Barnett is a Bristol-based sculptor and installation artist born in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Exploring notions of space, place and time through objects, structures and materials her work is often-site specific. Heavily process led, making and materials are fundamental to her practice. Interested in our relationship with landscape and the traces we leave, her work is concerned with how we archive our existence and leave our own individual marks.
