I just took this photo outside my kids’ school at pick-up because I was so amazed at the awesomeness of taking the iconic figure of the Mudflap Girl and turning her into an average-sized, trucker-capped dude in a loungey pose.
Full disclosure, I used to work at a company called Lisa Kline that actually has the traditional Mudflap Girl as its logo… I even had a gold mudflap girl necklace that was given to me by the store’s owner, so I have a certain fondness for what is generally seen as a sexist symbol.
So I have to ask—guys, what do you think of the Mudflap Guy? It’s an interesting experiment in objectification.. Is it funny, empowering, offensive? Something else?
How about the original Mudflap Girl?
