At 96 years old, they are amongst the last of their generation.
Humble and gentle, ever giving and loving. They are the very definition of selflessness, and my parents continue the affair of the heart that began over eighty years ago.
Through world wars, economic depression and collapse, from struggle and loss to the hard times of post industrial reality, this love has endured.
At its root lies giving, just giving.
In this, self is forgotten in the service of other.
Still my teachers, I am proud to call them mum and dad.
