Do you forget to take care of yourself during the holiday rush? Here are 10 tips to help you get through it.
Holidays are one of those times when we’re expected to be super-human. Even if you don’t do December celebrations, there’s a good chance you’ll be asked to take up for friends or co-workers who do, and the pressure to be a good sport can be intense. If you don’t have children or if you’re single, you plans are needs are often expected to be secondary to people who do. Or the “can you do me a favors” add up, or the “can you contribute to thises” keep coming.
If it’s the first time you’re in charge of a holiday or taking a leading role in the planning, whether it’s for family, work, or community, it’s easy to wonder when it will all be over, even if you’re having a great time. Because you don’t have to be miserable to be stressed. Sometimes the toughest times are when you are trying to do everything you and everyone around you loves.
With that in mind, here are 1o ways that you can try to reduce stress and get to January looking forward to next December. I say try because in the midst of everything, remembering how to not lose you head may not, unfortunately, be on the top of our list.
