Have you ever dated someone who seems perfect at first, only to become distant or inconsistent? You might obsess over them, even when they’re not fully present or ready for a relationship. This video explores why we’re drawn to emotionally unavailable people and what it means for our relationships.
Many of us are attracted to emotionally unavailable people because we mistake scarcity for value. We often overlook someone who’s stable and available for the thrill of pursuing someone who seems rare and elusive—like chasing diamonds instead of appreciating the air we breathe.
Sometimes, our attraction to emotionally unavailable partners stems from deeper patterns in our lives. If you find yourself repeatedly drawn to people who make you feel anxious and uncertain, there may be underlying reasons from your past that make this dynamic feel familiar and even addictive.
Confusing Anxiety With Love
It’s easy to mistake the anxiety and uncertainty someone causes us with passion and love. Our past experiences, especially in childhood, can wire us to seek out familiar emotional patterns—even when they’re unhealthy.
When we’re in a cycle of chasing emotionally unavailable partners, it’s crucial to recognize that what we perceive as love might actually be addiction. Like any addiction, it’s difficult to appreciate healthier alternatives until we break free from the cycle.
Our brains can get hooked on the highs and lows of relationships, creating a dopamine cycle that keeps us craving drama and intensity. Breaking this cycle allows us to appreciate and seek out healthier, more stable forms of love.
If you recognize these patterns in your own life and want to break free, join me at the Love Life Reset event. We’ll discuss practical strategies to shift your approach to love, leading to relationships that are not only fulfilling but also peaceful. Visit lovelifetraining.com to sign up for this live event happening in just two days.
