April moods upon the mountain.
———
Sweeping gales from the Atlantic drive rain and cloud deep into the ecology.
This is the time that water is stored within bulb, root, and trunk.
All around me, the earth drinks with gratitude and the very ground swells with this bounty.
The musical notes of the streams send out their sweet song to all the corners of this place. While the wind tests the strength of tree and animal.
Overhead, on the highest crags, the vultures perch, scan the ground with fierce sight, and await the passing of the weak.
The great wheel keeps turning and all life with it.
