The wild plants of the woodland need to complete their cycles of growth before the tree canopy closes over.
Now, the late winter sun floods the glades with its silvery light.
In response to this solar caress, the familiar Spring flowers of our woodlands appear, urgent in their flowering and reproducing.
While they are with us for just a brief time, their breathtaking beauty and abundance more than compensates for this brevity.
