Hilarious Twitter and Facebook Feed Mocks Silly Double Standards
—
There’s a newly popular Twitter feed on the block: @manwhohasitall. And he is using the power of humor to crusade against silly sexist double-standards, by basically taking phrases that people say about women all of the time, and instead saying them about men. Simple. Effective. And hilarious.
Here are some recent Tweets:
“I wanted to do better at work, so I changed the tone of my voice and leaned forward slightly,” Keith, age 61. Thanks K, inspirational.

Similar memes adorn his Facebook Page:
But it’s the comments on his Facebook Page – mostly by women playing along – that are as good if not better than the memes themselves. In response to the above meme, commenter Emily Brady writes:
“Men who go into professions such as this who intend to leave anyway to have children mislead their employers and create a drain on social funding. They double dip by taking employer leave as well as the Government Paid Parental Leave. Then there is the issue of their return to work. Many choose to come back part time. Don’t their patients deserve continuity of care? Don’t their children deserve fathers who actually raise them? This money and training would be better spent on promising young females who earned their positions through their own merit and will have long, uninterrupted careers.”
Humor can be an effective weapon, and satire a way to expose us. After all, as comedian Aziz Ansari said about feminism, it’s just about equal rights.
It’s really not that complicated.

Men and children first.
You should never hit a boy.
Women have made a mess of the world, it’s time to give men a chance.
What did she do to make him do that?
Sir, take my seat.
Women and children first hasn’t been spoken in ages – but anyone who takes the time to evacuate children from a disaster really ought to be protected regardless of gender.
You shouldn’t hit a boy.
Women haven’t had a chance to make a mess of the world yet. We’ve been busy sorying out the chaos that results from careless men making bad decisions.
Why DID she make him do that? And why did he agree to it?
Anyone can have my seat – sitting is the new smoking.
“omen haven’t had a chance to make a mess of the world yet. We’ve been busy sorying out the chaos that results from careless men making bad decisions.” Now you’re cheating. A lot of the things they point out in this article have a factual basis. Like women taking off to have a child. Well, if a company offers 18 weeks paid maternity leave and only 2 weeks paid paternity leave, who do you think will do the taking off to care for the child for the most part? That is sexism against men not women, but we’re not supposed… Read more »

Thats fine well and good as long as the humor is accurate.
The problem here is some of these so called jokes actually indulge in sexist double standards against men in order to expose sexist double standards against women. Sexism against men is a joke and sexism against women is a big deal?
That’s not observation. That’s the status quo.
Some of these things, if you look beyond the surface, is actually sexism against men. We know that in society sexism against one gender sometimes (maybe usually) impacts the other as well. They only see the impact on women. One of the problems with that is then you never actually solve it, but I wonder some times if that’s even the point with some. I’ve come to realize that in some sectors there is a greater aversion to helping men than desire to assist women. We saw that with VAWA and the fight to remove restrictions on aid. The liberal… Read more »
