My wife and I have a private group. Yes, a Facebook group … for just the two of us.

If it sounds cute and silly, I might have to agree with you that it may be. But it’s our little corner of the Internet that is solely ours. The name of it is even titled with our silly nicknames for each other. It’s pretty much a scrapbook and there is nothing public about it—with exception of this article.
We would occasionally post on each other’s wall, or send a FB message, but these are usually funny or cute things that we want others to see, but have the significant other in mind when sharing them.
When I post a robot video or a clown meme on her wall, essentially I’m saying, “Hey, I found this cool thing that maybe your friends would like, too.” Sending a Facebook message is more like, “Hey, I miss you. Can’t wait till you’re home.”
When I post to our private group, there is a variety of posts. Sometimes it’s a destination I’d like to vacation to. Sometimes, it’s the video of “our” new love song. Sometimes, it’s a photo or blurb. Sometimes it’s a Good Man Project article on best friends.
When she posts something, I run there to see what it is, because I know it’s something special.
I’m not big on holding hands and making out at my age, but I still have affections. I’m not for public displays of affection, but I have a simmering type of passion.
What I share to my wife and my private Facebook group demonstrates this.
