Though the two squads are playing in the Western Conference Finals, their series is a de facto championship bout, as the winner will be a heavy favorite against whoever emerges from the Eastern Conference. The Rockets have the likely MVP (James Harden) and homecourt advantage, but that didn’t help them in a 119-106 game one loss on Monday. Harden had 41 points, and got a solid contribution from star point guard Chris Paul, who had 23 points and 11 rebounds. The rest of the team, however, was abysmal, combining to shoot 17-for-44 (38.6 percent). The Warriors sleepwalked through the regular season en route to 58 wins, and have mostly coasted through the playoffs too. In game one, Kevin Durant had an effortless 37 points, and Klay Thompson added 28. Twitter likes both teams, but would rather see Harden and Paul in the Finals than the Warriors for a fourth straight year. Over the last seven days, @HoustonRockets has a 73 percent positive score, while @Warriors has a 69 percent score.—Alex Shultz
