The citrus season is upon us once again.
–––
All around the lower slopes of the mountain, the orange and lemon groves are bursting into full sensorial life.
Each tree is covered with magnificent white flowers that are scenting the air with rich and exotic perfumes.
At the same time, the fruit from last year’s flowering is now ripening under the powerful autumn sun of Andalucia.
These sweet oranges adorn the trees and each branch bends low to the earth with the promise of the bounty to come.
These fruits are just one of the many gifts of the Moors, when this was the great Kingdom of Al Andaluz, and the heady fragrances are a reminder of the legacy and exoticism of the East.
