The internet moves so quickly, so maybe most of you didn’t even realize. Or maybe, maybe this is the first time you are stumbling on my words. If it is the latter, I perhaps should introduce myself to you.
What’s happening? My name is Tha Bearded Vulture, and I have made a name on this platform talking about many topics. Topics that are distinct yet all touch on the string of human experience.
Politics.
Society.
People.
love…
That last one isn’t as pronounced in my more recent uploads. This publication’s header addressing “Hello, Love” has barely been noticeable in the stories list. The last submission was February 20th.
What happened? Why such a long time in between? Is it, dare you consider, a disagreement with the publication itself?
No, let me put your heart at ease. My absence from here has been for a simple reason that maybe we all feel.
“What is there to write about love that I haven’t discussed so far? What can I add to the conversation?
I suppose I felt as though I reached that point, that ceiling for the time being in my life, where I couldn’t bring nuances anymore to discussions of Love. Romantic writer’s block, if you will. And that has robbed me of the urge to even hit publish. So many drafts litter my account, and I’d fall out of love with them when I placed the first period after the very first sentence. Never to be touched by the keys guided by my hands again. They just move further and further down the totem pole of politics, society, sociology, reflections, memoirs of a different kind, all the sorts of writing that I just seem to be able to bring more of myself to.
I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have this nagging feeling inside my heart. I am not in a relationship at the moment, and the musings of the concept make me feel as though I am one of those very gurus I critique. That may not be the right characterization, but I feel the sway of the waves that lets me know I might be on the same boat.
I have found myself, in the absence of penning my own thoughts to a page, reading more. Pulling perspectives from the work of others to gain perspective and understanding.
wisdom feels like a candle flickering in a dark room. The external skepticism, anger, and cynicism can’t deter that bright light that even changes the shades of the darkest corners.
’s courage is invigorating. She takes the time to pen heartfelt and well-thought-out pieces, with all the detractors armed and ready. I think she published not too long ago. Her perspective is quite profound and nuanced, juxtaposed by such a binary-biased world.
spent words, turned to sentences, and turned to concepts that have moved me quite recently. Her ability to set an emotion and hold it to were it’s a painfully placed mirror in front of you. Not a broken mirror, but a blemish-free one that reveals and bears all.
I give them and so many others their flowers, for unintentionally not letting me dwell in a place of lack just because I couldn’t write.
It is in the valley periods that we learn the most about ourselves. How badly we want to return to the mountain, and why we want to touch the peak?
Maybe that is what this is. Not a block of ideas and experiences, but a trial to quiet my mind and spirit and listen to those who may also have ideas. Individuals can learn from others as well.
Where have I been?
I’ve been in the valley reading about love.
