In today’s times, one is hard-pressed to find someone who isn’t striving to get rich and famous. What most people lack, though, is the work ethic to see those dreams come true. There is a notion that those who achieve massive success must have been in the right place at the right time, that lightning must have stricken them at precisely the most opportune moment. The truth is, thousands of dollars annually are accessible to the Average Joe by merely cashing in on your daily habits. Shawn Sharma, a multi-talented entrepreneur, social influencer, and financial literacy advocate, has created clever and easy ways to improve your credit and help you accumulate wealth. The best part is, it does not take a winning lottery ticket or getting Insta-famous. The answers are actually in the things you’re already doing, such as shopping and traveling.
Sharma grew up poor, but make no mistake: He had brilliant, hard-working parents who instilled a dogged work ethic and determination in him from a young age. The son of highly educated immigrant parents who could not convert their education into comparable jobs in the US through a series of challenging circumstances and obligations, Sharma watched them and learned. The string of bad luck in his parents’ lives resulted in poverty for Shawn’s family, but the thing that remained was the American dream. As a result, Sharma became dedicated to breaking through the wall of broken dreams and major disappointments that kept two good people down. With a scholarship to an elite boarding school, Sharma graduated from Cornell University and was accepted to medical school. While in college, he discovered the highly-profitable benefits of credit card arbitrage, where he transformed a monthly income of $2,000-$3,000 into the same amount daily. Creating Credit 101, Sharma devised a plan to help empower others to leverage their own credit and have the same opportunities he did for wealth and success.
Credit 101 helps thousands of clients legally take advantage of credit cards and travel offers, such as bonuses, rewards, cash-back, and more. Sharma shows clients how to improve their credit scores and access lines of credit to fund businesses. He says the original reason for creating the company was to empower others to leverage their own credit and have a chance to live the American dream. Sharma is doing just that.
Sharma’s rise from poverty to social media influencer (over 1 million Instagram followers) proves that anything is possible with hard work and a refusal to give up. Sharma says that most people do not understand the benefits of utilizing credit cards responsibly, but he quickly shows them how to create an extra $2,000-$10,000 annually. Those numbers are for a family earning only $40,000 a year, so it’s easy to see those numbers ballooning with higher income.
Sharma has always prioritized creating healthy work environments for the people he employs in his twenty-plus companies. Through the comprehensive training of one manager, Sharma maximizes company and individual earnings by allowing that manager to run with the ball. “I train one sales manager and then give him the green light to hire, recruit, train, and build the team below him.” Delegating most of the tasks to one manager allows business owners time to focus on networking, building successful partnerships, and allowing quality managers to generate more company revenue, resulting in higher compensation for themselves.
Sharma suggests that wannabe entrepreneurs start with ripping off the Band-Aid of fear. He says, “Just dive in and get started because imperfect action is way better than being paralyzed by analysis.” Additionally, Sharma encourages others to educate themselves as much as possible along the journey. He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn from the best in the business through seminars, personal coaching, or charity events where he rubbed elbows with billionaires.
Shawn still takes care of his disabled mother today, crediting her as the wind beneath his wings of success. “She is the main reason I am who I am,” he says, smiling. He also donates to various charities and inspires people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to keep on dreaming big. “Regardless of skin color or income level, we all start out on a level playing field when it comes to our credit,” he says. Sharma maintains that his main priority in business is helping others become financially literate and see their dreams become a reality.
