‘Captain Underpants’ Unlike any superhero you have ever seen
Hollywood is making a lot of movies based on book series lately. Sometimes they end up doing pretty well, but this has not been true recently. So when I heard they were making a Captain Underpants film, I had a feeling it was going to be awful. Once I saw the first trailer though, I changed my mind. When I heard Weird Al sang the theme song, I felt like it might be worth checking out. I was able to see it early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Captain Underpants here:
George Beard (Kevin Hart) and Harold Hutchins (Thomas Middleditch) are two overly imaginative pranksters who spend hours in a treehouse creating comic books. When their mean principal threatens to separate them into different classes, the mischievous boys accidentally hypnotize him into thinking that he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants (Ed Helms).
Captain Underpants was a fun film to watch. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but that is a good thing. The humor was made mainly for kids, but that was to be expected. The animation turned out pretty good, and the cast do a great job voicing their characters. At its core, it was a bit better than I expected this film to be. Captain Underpants gets 6.5/10. It was not the best animated film I have ever seen, but it was still fun to watch. There were a few cool surprises as this story unfolds, and an ending that I did not see coming. It is definitely a good film to take your kids to see, I am sure they will like it.
Captain Underpants soars into theaters tomorrow. You can follow this film on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
This movie has used some great 3D animation with a crunch of humor and a story that can make any kid happy. for me 4/5 rating is good.
