Abdul Staten sat on a panel about how the idea of masculinity is hindering adolescent boys from blossoming into their authentic, non-violent, non-misogynistic, non-abusive selves.

About Abdul Staten
As the Program Coordinator for Empowering Young Men, Abdul implements the EYM program to young men at schools and agencies across New Jersey, and serves as lead trainer on domestic minor sex trafficking. In previous roles, Abdul was the education coordinator at a rape crisis center, where he delivered educational presentations on sexual violence and implemented media literacy and bystander prevention programs. Abdul has a Master’s degree from Seton Hall University, a Bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University, and has authored a book entitled, A Matter of Semantics, which assists college students in navigating the critical, outside-of-the-classroom lessons students learn during college, and equip them with skills to make them more marketable job candidates.
