Sitting by the riverbank we learn the ways of our ancestors.
Crafting rope from nature is an ancient way.
From harvesting the leaf to separating out the fibres and finally the cording itself is a tactile reindigenisation.
It is not playing native, nor co-opting and appropriating tradition.
Rather it is a direct connection to our own aboriginal selves.
Once more we become animal in the wilds and feel our roots reach deep into the earth.
