Who would have thought buying condoms could also make you an activist.

“My duty as a gentleman has never interfered with my pleasures in the smallest degree.”
~Oscar Wilde
When I first saw the commercial for L. Condoms, I probably laughed it off just like everyone else, dismissing it as a simple SNL sketch. Then I saw it again … and I just had to agree with everything it presented and was left only with an absolute respect for the creative team who gave birth to this commercial. Sometimes comedy can hold the greatest of truths.
Take a minute and watch the clip again, I’ll wait. Go on, click it again, you know you want to … Give in, click it … Now realize that this is a real commercial for a real product from a real company!
According to most women and some men, guys just want to f@ck. This is not the condom for them. Actually, that kind of guy will try to avoid condoms all together, which is rather sad. BUT, if you are not that kind of guy, if you are a Good Man, a Gentle Man, this is the condom for you. Because “Good Men know how to love and F@ck, at the same time.”
A Good Man can light a fire for you with the delicate stroke of a single hand while not spilling a drop of their Single Malt Scotch they hold on the other hand. They have embraced their sensitive side as they are willing to appreciating the sweet scents of nature, and a healthy lifestyle as they are more than willing to dive face first to suck the sweet juices out of nature’s blessed fruits. They have found a enlightenment from contemplative meditation and a good Single Malt Scotch. They respect themselves enough to take care of themselves, while also taking care of those who can’t care for themselves. Good Men simply want to make the world a more beautiful place, while having a good Single Malt Scotch in hand all the while.
Good Men create the mood for “world changing sex” (right out of the company slogan) by providing a sense of caring, of comfort, and of security for their partner. They know sex should be labored with passion. Just like an artist uses a brush to create beauty on a canvas, a Good Man knows how to use chocolates, whip cream, a cherry, and a feather (yes, I paused the clip to see what was on the table) on the canvas that is his partner’s body. “Sex is not about conquering women, it’s about always making it worth her while.” Other than getting Morgan Freeman as a narrator, I would not change a thing.
Then the commercial ends in a rather interesting note. Apparently for every condom sold, the company will donate a condom to a person in a developing country. With my interest peaked, I head out into the unknown, read as I Googled up L. Condoms online. What I found blew me away even more than the commercial!
This Is L. is a condom company with a focus on HIV/AIDS prevention in developing countries. The company was founded by Talia Frenkel, a former photojournalist whose coverage of the effects of HIV/AIDS on women and girls around the world inspired her to find a way to curb the epidemic with a sustainable solution. Their mission is to make safe sex a human right. The sight is full of interesting information, including an emergency condom delivery service if you are in San Francisco or LA.
So what started out as a random YouTube click, ended up being a rather educational experience. I can openly say that next time I have to buy condoms; I know which ones to get. Then I can proudly say I GIVE A F@CK!

Great article!
“Good Men simply want to make the world a more beautiful place, while having a good Single Malt Scotch in hand all the while.”
I prefer Bourbon myself. Can I put a Padron 1964 Exclusivo (Maduro) in the other hand?
Jules,
You are a man of refined taste.
