The almost immediate and predictable reaction to police killing unarmed black men in America, from many whites, is to look for justification. Without ever considering the human side to this epidemic. Unfortunately, this theme is not new in this country. There has always been an undercurrent belief among white American’s that somehow, no matter the circumstances, they deserved it.
• How can we refocus the narrative so that all use of lethal force by police is examined the same way?
• As a minority how has negative police interaction impacted you personally?
• As a white American have you witnessed police injustice directed at a minority friend or loved one? How did you respond?
• Does the fact that more white Americans don’t use their political voice to stop this make them culpable?
• In what ways can we educate our children to eradicate this problem in the future? Why aren’t we doing that in mass?
