Unconditional love does not mean being a doormat.
From Leslie, in response to 5 Ways We Screw Up Unconditional Love:
Very well written article. I am in the recovery phase of divorce and this article helped me see how we BOTH went wrong. More importantly, it enabled me to see that there were things I allowed in the marriage that I should not have and that it is NOT wrong to expect to be loved unconditionally while still being realistic.Nor is it selfish to set healthy boundaries. Thank you so much for writing this, I found it very helpful. Men, read and re-read this article and believe what he says. Ladies too!! This is a blue-print for redefining and understanding the type of love that is the foundation of a strong, healthy, and lasting relationship.
