There are so many possible ways to catch your partner having an affair. From text messages and DMs to checking receipts, the possibilities are endless. I never thought that Netflix would reveal my boyfriend’s double life. But it did.
Here’s how Netflix revealed my partner was cheating on me — and how you can potentially use it to catch your partner having an affair, too.
I Suspected He Was Cheating, But Netflix Confirmed It
The truth was, things had felt off lately. We didn’t live together yet, and I felt this emotional distance that I hadn’t noticed before.
So when my boyfriend at the time asked to use my Netflix account on his TV, a gut feeling came over me. Somehow, I just knew: if I was right, if he was cheating on me, there was a chance that this was going to expose it all.
And I wanted answers. I felt like I needed closure. I didn’t feel like I could move on from this 3.5-year relationship until I had proof that he was cheating on me.
So, I gave him my login info. It’s worth noting that my email address contains my first and last name.
My gut rarely steers me wrong. About two weeks later, I got a message on Facebook from a female asking if I knew my boyfriend.
It turns out that while I had started seeing him first, he had secretly been engaged to this woman for two years. She had recently moved in with him, which explained the newfound distance. He had been using her Netflix account, but they had gotten into an argument, and she removed her account from the TV, which is when he asked to use my account.
I Used This Strategy a Second Time to Catch Another Cheater
When I suspected that the next guy I dated was cheating on me, I went back to what I knew worked. I plugged my Prime Video information into his TV.
Sure enough, it led to another message from another female who was dating my significant other.
How You Can Use Netflix to Catch a Cheater
Netflix and other streaming apps can be an effective way to catch a cheater because most people don’t think to clear their account information, as they do with text messages or DMs. People can be careless, and let’s be real: who would actually think that Netflix would expose a cheater?
Here’s how you can use this method to catch your partner having an affair or a secret relationship.
Check out your partner’s TV. It’s as simple as that. Notice if other email addresses have been used to log in to their Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming apps when you’re not around.
And if you suspect that your partner could be cheating on you, plug your own Netflix account information into their TV. Because the truth?
It’s possible that someone else might be trying to catch your partner cheating on them, too.
Reality Check
If you suspect your partner is cheating, it might be time to reevaluate the relationship. Remember that you deserve a love that doesn’t make you feel like there could be someone else. You are worthy of a love that doesn’t leave you wondering.
