I want to write a great motivational blog every chance I get, or at least somehow inspire you. I do not believe in writers block because I carry with me a little notebook to write down ideas. These ideas are broken down depending on the topic.
For example, when ideas pop into my monkey mind and as that topic is written down, I have to visualize what platform is best for that topic. Is this idea for The Good Men Project or maybe LinkedIn or even writing long form on Instagram.
Currently, my level of stress in my life is pretty high and possibly so is yours but for me writing is very cathartic.
This post is being typed while there is tremendous nerve pain going on within my body. Funny story is that I slept on the floor last night next to the bed because the pain was so severe that I could not move. The Christmas tree fell and both my wife and I jumped out of bed to see what the noise was. I put my left foot down and the next thing was me face planting into the carpet (happy we still have not put in hardwood floors).
This story is to hopefully illustrate that even when bad things happen to us, we still should find good. This is why in my mind there are always things to write about.
One of my podcast and writing hero’s is Tim Ferris. I heard him once talk about how you and I can improve our lives. What Tim stated was essential all we need to be successful is “one” thing to go viral This is why I do my own weekly podcast and try to coherently put this column together each week.
Let me explain that having a blog post or a podcast go viral is not easy but if you are consistent then there is a chance.
Teaching your kids why to read every day is a skill they might not totally understand but the lesson for them to understand is being consistent. Having a belief that the more you do “X” the better you will become.
Each year I come up with a word to use as a mantra. Unfortunately, 2017 was not the year I had hoped for. The word for 2017 was “execute” and all I can really say was #epicfailure.
My vision was that my third book would be published and life would be so much different. I failed on being consistent and therefore did not execute my goals.
Will 2018 be different? Yes! I say yes because of the stressful year it has been. Not to go into great details but as a whole, our family suffered because of my lack of putting on my big boy pants and doing the work that I needed to do for the goals I had wanted to achieve.
I have just one tip for you on how to live a better life. This will change your life but only if you do this one thing. This one thing will lead to SO much GREATNESS.
My one tip is to simply write your thoughts down. You never know what you will discover. Journal each morning and bonus points to do it before you go to bed. Your life will change because not only will you be consistent but you will also execute as well.
You want more out of life? I know you do. This one routine will change you.
Sorry to leave you but it is time to take my aspirin because I do not need to sleep on the floor again.
