In this short video, Lana gives tips on surviving the holidays with your partner. There is a lot of stress in the atmosphere this time of year, don’t let that ruin the holiday with your partner. Be proactive in knowing what to expect.
Three areas of stress:
1. Gift Exchange: have dialogue about whether you’ll be exchanging gifts with your partner so you are both on the same page. Set expectations of the dollar value of the gift.
2. Family Expectations: communicate about who you’ll be spending the holidays with and when. Or maybe you aren’t spending time with each other’s family and that’s okay too.
3. Religious Expectations: because religion and spirituality are very touchy subjects, make sure you have the conversation about how you expect the religious/spiritual part of the holiday.
