There are a hundred reasons this site got a Top Stumble Upon rating.
This is seriously one of the coolest graphics I’ve gotten to stumble upon. It’s not only fascinating to see and hear how one genre leads to two leads to three, it’s also interesting to see that some of that we call modern has its roots in unexpected places. Click a genre, all of its connections light up, and a sample plays. You can follow the progression of sound.
I cannot begin to guess the hours that went into this.
And there’s no denying that it’s handy to have a place to go to surreptitiously sneak a listen when you date starts talking about they hate rapcore but love rapmetal, or your boss tells stories being in a death metal band. Click on a genre and get a sample. You won’t be an expert, but you’ll have a clue.
