Moana takes viewers on a journey through the ocean to right a wrong and save her people
Disney is on a winning streak lately. They have had big hits recently like Zootopia, Captain America Civil War, Finding Dory and Doctor Strange. They are trying to continue this streak with their new film Moana. I was able to see it last week and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Moana here:
An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (Auliʻi Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui ( Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, she fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.
I really liked Moana. It relies on much more than just stunning visuals. It is full of wonderful characters that all help make this film something special. There are plenty of monsters here and they all have the perfect blend of scary imagery and clever humor. What really blew me away though was the songs. Each one fits the scene they are in and a few of them help lift this film up to a higher level. If you want to learn more about Moana head over to this website.
Moana had earned 10/10. There is nothing bad I can say about this movie. The songs are catchy, the characters are perfect and it also throws in a few surprising twists. One of the best films I have seen all year.
