About Bob Malinak
A native Texan, Bob Malinak graduated from Temple High School in 1954. He received a B.A. degree from Rice Institute in 1958 and an L.L.B. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1961. He was a trial lawyer in the Baker Botts law firm in Houston until 1999. After that, until 1965 he was and arbitrator and mediator as well as a consultant to lawyers who represented attorneys who had been sued. During his thirty-seven years as a trial lawyer Bob tried more than one hundred cases in state and federal courts in Texas and Arkansas. In addition, he argued appeals in the Supreme Courts of Texas and Arkansas and in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits.
Bob became a serious baseball fan when he listened to a radio broadcast of a World Series game between the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. He was a three -time letter winner when he played third base for the Temple High School baseball team. He was a member of 1955 and 1956 Rice Owl teams.
