From the time she read “See Spot run,” and saw the picture form in her mind, L.T. Lewis has been addicted to painting word pictures of her own.

I write because it’s like breathing to me. When I learned to read at five years old I was so moved by the words on the page that I said to myself, “I can do that”. Yes, “see spot run” clinched it for me! Words on the page paint a picture on the imagination of the reader. So much so that when allowed to do so, I wrote poems or one-act plays for book reports instead of the traditional boring report style.
Just like a recovering alcoholic in an A.A. meeting; I confess, I Lisa T. Lewis am not only an ordained minister, I-AM-A-WRITER!
I enjoy moving someone at the very core of their soul. As a young person, when I saw how my writing impacted those who read it, I decided that I was writer.
Then the trajectory of my life took a different turn and I needed to put food on the table. I didn’t, or rather couldn’t, see how my writing would do that. So I put my energy into not only getting a job, but also climbing the professional ladder and shattering the glass ceiling. Mission accomplished!
