In the end, that’s all we are — just stories. Not perfect ones, certainly not always happy, but stories worth remembering anyway. We become the small anecdotes shared over cups of coffee, the quiet reflections during rainy afternoons, and the laughter-filled memories exchanged at dinner tables long after the dishes are cleared away.
We spend so much of our lives worrying about the big moments, the grand gestures, that we overlook the beauty of ordinary days. It’s only later we realize that the small moments — like someone remembering how you take your coffee or the way you always misplace your keys — are the ones that stick. These tiny, seemingly insignificant details are the ones people carry long after we’re gone.
We are remembered by the way we made others feel. The warmth of a hug when it was most needed, the unexpected kindness we showed on a random Monday afternoon. We are remembered by the things we said, the jokes we told, the silences we shared comfortably.
Sometimes, I wonder what stories I’ll leave behind. Will they remember the times I showed up, even when no one asked? Will they remember the days I tried, despite everything feeling impossible? I hope they do. Not just the good stories, but the real ones too — the ones filled with mistakes, laughter, quiet bravery, and endless cups of coffee.
Because, in the end, we don’t live forever. But if we’re lucky, our stories will.
