I know, I know.
My style isn’t to tell you what to do.
It’s to help you figure something out through the power of asking the right questions to get you to your right answers.
It’s to offer some advice.
I have opinions like everyone else, doesn’t mean I am right and others are wrong.
So I am just going to say something because this phrase bugs the crap out of me.
I HATE THE PHRASE
‘I wish’
I wish I had more money
I wish I had a different job
I wish I was a little bit taller…. I wish I was a baller (great song!)
I wish my work valued me more
I wish I was better at XYZ
I wish, I wish, I wish
I had this discussion with a good friend of mine and she didn’t agree with my opinion. Which is absolutely fine.
Answer me this:
Has just wishing for something ever actually made it come true?
A wish without action is just a dream.
Dreams don’t come true without action.
Next time you find yourself saying I wish.
Ask yourself if you are just saying it or if it is something really important to you.
If it is important to you then try this next step after saying ‘I wish’
What do I need to do to make that wish a reality?
Then start making it a reality!
