I’ll never forget the helpless feelings I had when I found out my niece was being teased. Having gone through this myself I was at a loss for what I could tell her. I had been told everything from “just ignore it” to “they are just jealous” and none of it helped me to feel good about the situation. I think one of the hardest things is feeling so out of control when you are being bullied. I really appreciated this video.
In this CivilSchools Parent Dialogue, Jamie and Joseph will cover:
1. Reasons that open, honest communication with your child is vital to bullying prevention
2. How to build empathy in your child through critical conversation and modeling of empathetic behavior
3. How to teach your child to be an UPstander to prevent bullying
Hi Danielle,
Thanks for sharing your article on bullying. I’m involved with teaching mindfulness in universities here in the UK. I am also interested very much in teaching about bullying from personal experience and also completing an MA in policy in education. Please keep me in the loop of information… Best Wishes,
William
