I am more of a political animal than I suspected. Of course, we write about things that are important to us right now.
I know I do.
Elections in the USA show me what issues to consider deeply and which ones to ignore. I am just one Voter but I do Vote.
I also vote with my dollars and time all year. Every.Time.
This last year has been instructive for me. I hope it has been for everyone.
As January approaches, the symbolic beginning of a new cycle,
a new year,
I know what I want.
I want to see each candidate speak about common, mutual topics of need and interest; not unlike what Miss Universe contestants do. I want the audience to be neutral and varied. That means not filled with political cooperatives as they often are now. It means just all of us.
Biography will not be a topic or part of a topic because it takes a while to do the footwork to obtain someone’s past history in documents and personal anecdotes: to have a sense of their actual biography.
What topics should we put forth to the candidates?
