I can’t even tell you the moment I realized it was over. It wasn’t a fight or a fight-cry kind of breakup. No. It was quiet. Like one day I was there, the next day I wasn’t. Like I blinked and suddenly he had moved on.
I tried to ignore it at first. Told myself he was just busy. Maybe stressed. You know how life gets messy sometimes. So I waited, kept messaging, hoping he’d answer. But the silence was loud. It screamed that he was gone.
Then I found out he wasn’t just gone — he was already with someone else. Just like that. Overnight, I was replaced. It hurt like hell. I kept asking myself, what did I do wrong? Was I not enough? How could he forget me so fast?
And then, out of nowhere, he came back. Like nothing had changed. Like I was still waiting for him.
I won’t lie, I wanted to say yes. To pretend I wasn’t hurt. To believe maybe this time would be different.
But deep inside, I knew better.
You have to learn that your worth isn’t tied to someone else’s choices. Just because they leave doesn’t mean you’re less. And when they come back, you don’t have to open the door for them.
Healing is messy. It’s painful. Some days you’ll feel strong. Other days, broken. But that’s okay.
If you’re going through this now — hold on. Don’t lose yourself waiting for someone who didn’t fight to stay. Surround yourself with people who see your value. Write your feelings down. Talk to friends. Do things that make you feel alive again.
Remember, you deserve someone who chooses you every day. Not someone who leaves you overnight and expects you to wait.
