This blog post is based on my opinions thoughts and thinking.
Stress is a part of life, especially when you have a full-time job and a family to take care of.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the demands that come with your responsibilities, which can lead to anxiety and depression or negatively change your behavior.
Luckily, there’s an approach to dealing with stress called affirmations based on my opinion.
The power of affirmations is that they help to cultivate the proper mindset to tackle the challenges of life.
Affirmations are short, positive statements you repeat to yourself every day.
They work because they help you adopt the right mindset to deal with the demands of life. By repeating a positive statement to yourself, you change your brain’s outlook toward stress.
The best way to get started with affirmations is to write them down several times a day. Sometimes I prefer to do this whenever I have time. The repetition helps embed these new beliefs into your subconscious mind, resulting in real and lasting improvements in your life.
Here are five of my favorite positive affirmations to use when you feel stressed:
…
1. I am loved by a higher power and supported by supportive friends and family.
I recommend using the acronym L.O.V.E. to remember this affirmation.
Locate a specific memory of being loved, appreciate the details and emotions of that experience, and allow yourself to feel love in your heart right now.
This affirmation is especially helpful when you feel alone or vulnerable.
As you repeat it, relax your muscles and allow yourself to fully receive the love that is overflowing in your life.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget all the wonderful people who love and support you. There are countless times when I’ve felt stressed or alone, only to realize that there are many people in my life I can turn to for help or support.
You probably experience a similar situation.
Every time you feel stressed out, take a moment to remind yourself of all the people who love and support you.
It will help you relax and feel more secure about your life.
…
2. I am bigger than my problems. I am stronger than my fears. I can cope with this challenge.
You’re going to get a lot of negative thoughts and emotions when dealing with stress.
When you find yourself getting overwhelmed, it’s important to remind yourself that you are bigger than your problems.
You are strong enough to deal with any challenge life throws your way. This is true because you have survived all the challenges you’ve already faced in your life.
What some people don’t realize is that you can’t be weaker than everything you’ve survived.
If you can survive some of the most difficult moments in your life, then you can handle anything else!
Remind yourself of all the things in life that have knocked you down, and then force yourself to get back on your feet again. You have a lot of strength inside you to draw from.
When you feel stressed, take a moment to remind yourself that you are stronger than your problems and challenges.
It will help you feel secure and powerful about yourself, which can make it easier to tackle stressful situations.
…
3. I am calm and creative in the face of this challenge. I can think of multiple solutions for this problem.
Stress makes people feel out of control and powerless.
Reminding yourself that you are calm and creative will make you feel more confident in the face of stress.
When you catch yourself getting anxious or stressed out, it’s important to remind yourself that there is a solution to every problem.
Even if you’re not aware of a specific solution, remind yourself that there is always a way out. It’s possible to solve even the most difficult problems in life.
The more often you repeat this affirmation in stressful situations, the more confident you will begin to feel.
…
4. It’s okay to take some time off when I need a break. My work is important, but it can wait until my mind and body are ready.
Stress can make you feel like you have a lot of pressure on your shoulders, but it’s important to remind yourself that it’s okay to take some time off when you need to recharge.
Sometimes all we need is a few hours or days of rest before we’re ready to turn our attention back toward the things we value most.
It’s easy to feel like you need to stay productive at all times. But without a break, it will be harder for you to perform at your best when it matters most.
Remind yourself of these simple truths:
- Our health is more important than making money.
- Every person needs time away from their work to recharge and rejuvenate.
…
5. The best is yet to come.
Sometimes it’s easy to become discouraged by the things you can’t control in life.
But with a little positive thinking, you’ll realize that the best is yet to come.
Ease yourself in this truth by reminding yourself of the good things that have happened to you so far in life.
What you have right now is not what matters most.
You are valuable because of who you are and what you’ve done with your life thus far.
Remind yourself that the best is yet to come. You have many long years ahead of you to accomplish great things, and you have all the time in the world to pursue your dreams.
…
To be honest, affirmations are not my favorite thing to do.
I’ve been a believer in the power of positive thinking for years, yet it still takes me a lot of effort to finish one affirmation.
However, when I make myself sit down and repeat the affirmations, it always makes me feel more relaxed and powerful in stressful situations.
If you want to start feeling this way too, then you’re going to have to grind through some repetitions.
