Social media has ruined the definition of relationships (at least for me). Suddenly, there are new rules, new words, and new ways to overthink everything.
When did relationships stop being about just being together and start feeling like mind games?
Somewhere between aesthetic couple pictures and romantic captions, we’ve started confusing validation with connection.
Every couple has their own love language, but at the core of every relationship, the language that matters most is effort and consistency.
Not just on birthdays and anniversaries, not just when it’s convenient, but every single day, in the smallest ways.
A “I miss you” text. A random call just to check in. Giving something thoughtful without any occasion — not because it’s needed, but because it made you think of them.
Love is in the details, in the moments that happen when no one is watching. And yet, we’ve overcomplicated something that should be so simple.
I don’t understand the concept of spooning, situationships, or breadcrumbing. Are we dating or making a sandwich?
Why do we need fancy words for things that should just be? Being together shouldn’t feel like a strategy.
Maybe I’m old school, but I believe love should be simple. Not easy, not effortless, but simple.
At the end of a long, exhausting day, your heart should feel lighter, not heavier, when you think about your person. You should feel excited to talk to and be with your partner.
The best kind of love doesn’t make you question where you stand. It should be about clarity, comfort, and the kind of warmth that feels like home.
Love should be about deciding where to meet next. Sitting together, talking till your coffee arrives, and then forgetting about everything else because the company is just that good.
It should be about having that one person who is your go-to for everything — whether it’s a long drive, a bad day, or just a random craving for spring rolls in the evening.
Because in the end, love shouldn’t feel like a puzzle you need to solve. It should just make sense.
