You wake up every single day and you think to yourself, today is going to be a good day. You’ve studied to be better at whatever is bothering you in your life.
You talk yourself up for the day that’s ahead, and then you’re faced with your first challenge.
That first challenge comes at you and you fail. No matter how much positive self-talk you had, no matter how much boo-hoo you have, the universe gives you a challenge and you fall flat on your face.
You think yourself, today wasn’t supposed to be like this.
It was supposed to be a good day. I wasn’t supposed to have a failure so quickly in my day.
You start getting in your head.
You start thinking, “The next time this opportunity presents itself, I’ll do better.”
And then the opportunity will literally show up again 20 minutes later. And because you’re so scared of it happening again because the day is not exactly manifesting and showing up the way you thought it would, that you have another failure right away.
Now you start spiraling. You start spiraling out of control.
You think to yourself, “Oh man, I can’t believe it. That’s two today. That’s two failures today. What am I going to do?”
You start getting deeper in your head. You start thinking more, and then another opportunity comes up and you try it, but you’re in and out so quickly of the opportunity that you’re not really there.
But you don’t want to screw up, yet you don’t want to succeed.
And you don’t want it happening again because you don’t like the feeling and your whole day is shot. How many times has this happened to you in whatever you’re trying to do?
Whether it’s something as simple as meeting women.
Flirting with men.
Working out.
Whatever it might be. So what do you do?
What do you do when this situation rears its ugly head?
Well, you got to recognize it as a test. You could quit and you can blame the system for not working; whatever system that you have memorized or put in your life or belief system, the best way to put it.
But in life, there’s no such thing as 100% success, at all. So the belief system may not work at that time, the opportunity that presented itself may not be the right one. It doesn’t mean that the system is broken. So what you need to do is you need to look at your day and say to yourself, I had a few minor setbacks.
I’m going to trust the system that I put in place. And when an opportunity presents itself again, I’m not going to think about the past opportunities that have caused the stress. I’m going to just give it my best effort because I know that the day is supposed to be great.
You got to fight through it. No different when a quarterback throws two interceptions at the beginning of the game and they’re down 14-0 before they’ve even run three offensive plays versus two offensive plays and interceptions. There’s nothing you can do but just keep going. You have to realize that if you put the work in, you may not get rewarded the first or second time. You might have made a mistake. It’s okay to make the mistake.
But how you grow, is if you truly say to yourself:
“I’m just going to keep going and I’m going to do this until I get it right because I don’t expect success right away.”
Because if you quit for the day, you got to start the next day, and then the next day the same thing might happen.
