In today’s fast-paced world, it’s sometimes difficult for me to maintain a positive outlook on life.
It’s hard for me to hear about all of the terrible things happening in the world, and I often take on other people’s problems myself.
But then I remember that it is my responsibility to make myself happy.
Happiness is a choice we make.
I choose to be happy, and I know that if I focus on what’s important in my life, then the little things don’t matter.
I want to encourage you to do the same by reading these 6 positive quotes that will inspire you to be happy.
1. A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure — Henry Kissinger
Sometimes in life, things seem to be piling on top of us. We think that if just one more thing comes at us, we will break.
But take this quote to heart and remember that you are much stronger than you think. You can handle anything with the right attitude.
I am sure that even if you are not a diamond, you have some inner strength.
When we talk about our inner strength, it is something that we can build and grow.
For example, if you are not a good athlete, you can practice your sport and learn to get better. Practice makes perfect. The more you practice, the better you become.
The same thing is true with any personal interest that we have in life.
If we become knowledgeable about it, then it will become easier for us to handle it when difficult situations happen.
2. Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end — John Lennon
When I am having a bad day, it’s easy for me to dwell on the negatives.
If something happens that doesn’t go my way, I may think about it for hours.
But sometimes I need to take a step back and remember that there are always two sides to the coin.
I might not have seen the other side yet, but it is out there somewhere. and I have to remain open-minded to the idea.
When things aren’t going your way, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and not see the possibilities.
Remind yourself that you have everything within you to make a positive change in your life.
3. Happiness does not depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude — Dale Carnegie
When I first started reading this quote, I thought it was a little silly. Of course, happiness does depend on outside conditions.
If you are homeless, you won’t be very happy about it. But no matter how bad your situation is, there is always hope for a better life somewhere down the road.
I think this quote is great because it reminds us that we can choose to be happy at any moment in our lives.
Sure, we might not be happy right now, but somewhere down the road, we will find a way to make ourselves happy.
4. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt — Abraham Lincoln
I’ve read this quote several places, but it never really sank in.
We order our lives based on what we think other people will think of us. We have to remember that our happiness is up to us.
Maybe people think you are a fool just because of who you are. But that doesn’t mean that you have to accept the labels of others.
You can always choose to be happy and supportive of those around you.
5. You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose — Dr. Seuss
This quote was very inspirational to me when I first read it. Who wouldn’t want to be able to steer their direction?
This quote is great because it reminds us that we can make the choices we want in our lives. We don’t have to put ourselves into other people’s shoes and feel guilty if they are not happy with our choices.
6. I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. — Maya Angelou
There are so many things in life that we hear about every day. It’s impossible to remember every word from our favorite musicians or every detail of a news story.
But we can remember how these important moments made us feel. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to remember our emotions.
The key is to learn how to respond with positive emotions.
If you can feel good about an experience, then you will never forget it.
