When you meet the partner of your dreams, things can be very exciting for a while. However, as is often the case, once the ‘honeymoon period’ is over the real hard work begins. Keeping a relationship fresh and exciting is something that requires thought and effort otherwise it can quickly become stale and boring.
Most men don’t want to end up sitting on the shelf once they reach a certain age. Unless you want to be one of those men that spends all his time on reverse phone lookup sites trying to track down ex-partners in the hope of rekindling something, you need to make the effort now while you still have the chance rather than waiting until it is too late.
What can you do to add some sparkle?
The good news is that you don’t have to spend a fortune or dedicate all of your time towards keeping the romance going in your relationship. In fact, often it is the simplest of things that makes the best impression. Showering your partner with jewelry and gifts is all well and good but you are simply throwing money at the issue. There are many personal and effective ways in which you can inject romance into your relationship:
Post Its: You may think that sticky notes are just for use in the office but they can actually prove very effective when it comes to being romantic. Leaving little notes stuck to the fridge, the wall, or anywhere else your partner is likely to see them, can be really romantic. Of course, you need to make sure you put a romantic message on them but even something as simple as ‘I love you’ can go a long way – and it takes a matter of seconds.
A romantic weekend: You can whisk your partner away for a romantic weekend without spending a fortune, and this is a great way for the two of you to spend some quality time alone. You could book a cottage or cabin for a weekend somewhere tranquil and quiet where you can enjoy romantic walks, cozy nights in, and time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Being more tactile: With today’s busy pace of life, we often end up forgetting about the little things such as the importance of conversation and affectionate touch. Be more tactile with your partner such as slipping your arm around your loved one’s shoulders while watching a movie or holding hands more often. They may only be little things but they can go a really long way.
Romantic dinners at home: Put your culinary skills to good use and surprise your loved one with a romantic home-cooked meal. You can get the soft music and lighting on, create a sumptuous menu with fine wine, and enjoy each other’s company without having to cope with being in a crowded restaurant.
These little steps are all easy to implement but can make a big difference when it comes to adding romance back into your relationship.
